LOUIS ICART (1888-1950)
Lot 206 LOUIS ICART

"The period of the Late Twenties brought into being the etching we now know as classic Icart. The woman was a tantalizing mix of innocence and seductiveness in her apparent mood. A paradox of soft, simple beauty and bold elegance. The contrast made one want, wonder and muse. No longer was the Icart Girl obscured by oppressive bundles of clothing, but rather she preffered being held back only by some translucent wisp of silk."
