Specialist note

At the time of the Castletown Exhibition, the arms were unidentified, the sinister impalement resembling the arms of O'Brien, leading to a tentative attribution to the Limerick works of John Stritch. Francis (Ibid.) re-interprets the arms as Ludlow of Shropshire impailing Kynaston.
