A collection of correspondence and prints from Maurits Cornelis Escher to his friend and fellow artist Gerd Arntz, including; E is een Ezel (E is for Easel) (B. 392), 1953, on Japan, signed in pencil and inscribed with dedication 'Beste Gerd, Bij gebrek aan nieuwer en beter, nog maar weer eens deze ezel, die je van harte een voorspoedig 1968 toebalkt en je dankt voor je hartelijke brief van 13-XII-'67/Hartelijke groet! je Mauk, Baarn, 1-I-'68', with margins, minor paper loss in the centre left edge, overall in very good condition, S. 137 x 103 mm.; and Vissen (Fish) (B. 414), woodengraving, on wove paper, with margins, signed in ink and inscribed with dedication 'Met hartelijke gelukswensen/23-XII-'56/Mauk Escher', sheet somewhat timestained, other wise in very good condition, S. 142 x 103 mm.; and Ariadne (Ariadne) (B. 404), woodengraving, on wove paper, with margins, inscribed 'Geluk in 1958!', overall in very good condition; and Three new year's cards, Ten greeting cards and 32 letters, all written between 1 February 1954-13 December 1971, on various personal and work related subjects; And the artist's funeral card, dated 30 March 1972.
