Tasting note: The greatest Margaux of the period. Most recently, two bottles, one dark and oxidised, the other medium-pale, with a bright, ruddy glow; whiff of mushrooms yet still fragrant; sweet, 'faisant', better flavour than nose but not at its greatest. Last tasted June 2004. At best ***** M.B.
