Standing dressed in the robes of a Knight of the Garter and wearing the chains and jewels of the Order of St George, with cast signature 'W THEED SC. LONDON', further inscription 'ELKINGTON.&.CO FOUNDERS'

Specialist note

Edward Stanley-Smith, 14th Earl of Derby (1799-1869) was Prime Minister three times between 1852 and 1868. The current lot is after the marble original by William Theed in St.George's Hall, Liverpool.
