Federico Andreotti (Italian, 1847-1930)

Federico Andreotti combined his technical precision, a skill honed during his anatomy classes at the Florence Academy, with the new theories on colour and texture that were being explored by the Impressionists. Many of his figurative subjects dealt with historical subjects but here we are able to appreciate two beauties from the Belle Epoque. Together they capture the essence between the artist's traditional approach and his Impressionist aspirations.
