Moulded with dancing peasants below an inscription, between gadrooned section, the cylindrical neck moulded with portrait busts in profile to the left and right within oval panels

The groups of revelling couples on the present jug are inspired by a series of prints, 'The Peasant Festival', Das Bauernfest, by Siebold Bayham, published in Nuremberg 1546/7.
