John Sell Cotman (Norwich 1782-1842 London)

Kitson notes that Cotman wrote on 23 August that 'I do not expect to leave London, but after Saturday I shall take trips on the Thames'. He then refers to 'A rapid sketch in charcoal and white chalk on blue paper inscribed 'Rochester, August 25, 1839'', S. Kitson, The Life of John Sell Cotman, London, 1937, p. 338.
