Alexis Lichine & C' Grande Champagne Cognac Labels state: "I found this rare old Cognac hidden away by Mr. Saulinier, who lives in Grande Champagne, the area which produces the characteristically full-bodied Brandies which are the greatest bearing the name of Cognac. It comes from a barrel hiddedn away for exhibitin purposes, and was obtained after many years of negotiation. It is a magnificent old Brandy, unblended and unreduced. This is one of the greatest Cognacs I have tasted in my life." Bottle numbers 293 and 302, quart , 90 proof. Metal capsules over driven corks. One torn label. Levels: two 4cms below base of corks
