A VERY RARE GOLD AND ENAMEL ORDER OF ST ANNE SECOND CLASS WITH CROWN AND SWORDS

After 1828, orders of St Anne, First and Second Class, were no longer enhanced with diamonds (apart rarely for foreign recipients). Instead, as an additional honour, the badges were awarded with the Imperial crown above the cross. This practice was discontinued in 1874.
