The backplate cast in relief with a battle scene from Antiquity, the bow-front grate with brass urn finials and supporting outset baluster standards
45 in. (114.5 cm.) high; 49½ in. (125.6 cm.) wide; 27 in. (68.5 cm.) deep

Specialist note

The battle scene depcited in the backplate takes inspiration from Charles Le Brun's painting of 1665 'Battle of the Granicus', the first of three major battles that Alexander the Great fought against the Persian Empire.
