The oval-shaped locket set with old mine-cut diamonds, decorated with a cushion-cut ruby cross, set at the center with a variously-shaped diamond and seed pearl plaque, with four multi-gem and enamel coats of arms, to the old mine-cut diamond bail and transparent caseback, opening to reveal a locket compartment, mounted in silver and gold, inscribed "1856 4th June 1881," circa 1880
