Inlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral, tortoiseshell and stained ivory with a peacock in a blossoming tree, the hilt with a duck amongst flowers and the reverse with a basket of flowers, silver fittings finely carved and inlaid in coloured cloisonné enamels with flowers and scrolling foliage, containing a tanto blade with horimono of Jogeryu [ascending and descending dragons], gold clad habaki, Edo Period (19th century)
