The Bag One series was drafted by John Lennon in 1969, originally intended as a wedding gift for Yoko Ono. It was Anthony Fawcett, who had collaborated with the couple on previous projects, who suggested a selection of the drawings be made into an edition of lithographs. The chosen set documents the couple's wedding ceremony and their honeymoon bed-in as well as including a number of erotic sketches. The edition was previewed on the 15 January 1970 at the London Arts Gallery, New Bond Street, and caused a sensation. The following day Scotland Yard arrived and confiscated the erotic prints deeming them pornographic.
