A white shirt with granddad collar, decorative lace panel to front, collar and cuffs, zip fastening to back, label inside Deborah Clare, owned by Brian Jones circa. 1968, accompanied by three black and white photographs of Jones wearing a similar shirt [printed later] and a letter concerning provenance (5)

Specialist note

In the accompanying letter the owner explains how the shirt was given by Brian Jones to his friend and associate Tony Sanchez, who in turn gave it to the vendor as a gift for co-writing his biography in 1977. Deborah & Clare were shirtmakers based in Beauchamp Place, London SW3 from 1965-1975.
