He acquired the Bowie signature the day after Bowie performed at the Santa Monica Auditorium with Iggy Pop, at the Dallas Airport where they found him eating in a cafeteria, prior to his flight. The Mick Ronson signature was obtained at a later date, at a Licorice Pizza Record Store when the Ian Hunter/Mick Ronson band was doing an in-store signing.
