Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the watch with opaline-white dial in 1994 and its subsequent sale on 18 January 1995.

The present lot is fresh to the market. According to our research, it is the third known example to appear at auction with this configuration and renders the present specimen a highly sought-after example for any collector of fine and rare timepieces. This reference 3970/2 is furthermore presented in overall excellent condition.

The celebrated reference 3970 was in production from 1986 until 2004. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 305.
