Cal. 240 Q nickel-finished lever movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 27 jewels, Gyromax balance, free sprung regulator, 22K gold micro-rotor, silvered matte dial, applied gold baton and square numerals, gold dauphine hands, three subsidiary dials for day and 24 hour display, month and leap year, date and moon phases, circular case, stepped bezel, snap on back, 18K gold Patek Philippe buckle, case, dial and movement signed

Specialist note

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and applied yellow gold indexes in 1989 and its subsequent sale on 14 August 1989. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe fitted veneered presentation box.

Reference 3940, in production from 1985 until 2006, was available in different case materials, platinum being the rarest. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pp. 292-293.
