Specialist note
Lodewijk van Schoor (d. 1702) was one of the most highly regarded and prolific tapestry designers in Brussels in the late 17th Century. Records from the merchant Nicolaas Naulaerts and his successor's archives of 1699 to 1709 document a set of the Seasons by van Schoor in their collection. A tapestry of identical design and signed by Jacob I van der Borght is in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
