A FRENCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD VITRINE-CABINET
BY FRANÇOIS LINKE, INDEX NUMBER 149, PARIS, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The spreading central pediment and flanking sides with fleur de pêcher marble tops above a sycamore panelled frieze inset with scrolling vine, birds and ram mounts, over bevelled glazed doors and sides, the mirror-backed interior with two glass shelves, on six stiff-leaf-mounted toupie feet, the lockplate stamped to the reverse 'CT. LINKE SERRURERIE PARIS', with original key stamped with the index number '149' to the flag
54 in.(137 cm.) high; 49½ in. (126 cm.) wide; 17 in. (43 cm.) deep

By repute Peter I, King of Serbia, (1844-1921) or his son Alexander I (1888-1934), King of Yugoslavia, for the Stari Dvor, or Old Palace, Belgrade.
