With swamped sighted barrel each signed 'JM COPENHAGEN' on the sighting flat and chiselled in low relief with scrollwork at the breech, rounded border engraved locks each signed 'IOHANN MERCKEL COPENHAGEN' and chiselled with further scrollwork on the tail, cock and steel, highly figured moulded rootwood full stocks, iron mounts including pierced foliate side-plates and spurred pommels each with grotesque mask cap, and one with wooden ramrod (stocks with numerous defects, mechanisms at fault)
