12k gold lever Extra Precision movement, 21 jewels and 2 diamonds, silvered matte dial, applied Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds, pentagonal case, the bezels, pendant and bow engraved with leaves and highlighted by opaque black enamel, the case back with a black enameled monogram, case, dial and movement signed
45mm diam.

Specialist note

Promoted as the Priceless Possession of a Few, the Gruen 50th anniversary watch was produced in 1924 to commemorate the 50 years since Dietrich Gruen received his pinion patent. The firm produced only 600 examples of this model, each one representing one month of those 50 years. At the time it was one of the most expensive watches marketed.
