Gilt brass, circular, going barrels for both trains, anchor escapement, brass bob pendulum with silk suspension, outside countwheel, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell, white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track with every 5-minute Arabic numerals, apertures for the winding and striking arbors, gilt pierced and engraved hands, chased gilt bronze, drum case housing the circular movement, raised on chased pillars, top surmounted by a Chinese character with an umbrella, hinged bezel, set with chased laurel wreath mounts and foliate frame, the base with chased and engraved floral decoration, visible balance
