Specialist note
A similar table compass with blue guilloché enamel and frosted gold ornament is held in the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Ohio. The Cleveland Museum example was also designed by Michael Perchin and reflects Fabergé's interest in reviving Neoclassical design elements. For more, see G. von Habsburg, Fabergé in America, New York, 1996, p. 112, no. 95.
