Together with twenty-three Indian ivory figures, late 19th century -- the tallest - 3 in. (8.8 cm.) high

Specialist note

The costume of the figure in the palanquin, together with the musicians, indicates that this is a barat, the procession that brings the groom to the bride's village for their wedding.
