The moulded bréche violette top above two short and two long graduated drawers, flanked by rounded fluted pilaster angles terminating in foliate sabots, stamped three times 'A.CRIAERD' and bearing a depository label for 'EBUTTS (CROYDEN) LTD DEPOSITORIES', stencilled 'F H ARGLES', the mounts largely associated, five of the handles bearing the C couronné poinçon

Specialist note

A maîtrise date is unrecorded for Antoine Criaerd, however he is known to have been active from 1720-1750 in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine district of Paris. He was the brother of Mathieu Criaerd (1689-1776, maître 1738) and is known to have worked for others such as l'ébéniste et marchand Migeon.
