Each with circular top inlaid with a floral spray, above a conforming similarly-decorated panelled frieze set with a cupboard door, the square legs joined by two scrolling acanthus galleried undertiers, on Greek key feet, one with mounts stamped variously 'ZJ' to the reverse and twice stamped 'JANSEN' to the underside of the carcase
The larger: 34 3/8in. (87.4 cm.) high; 17½in. (44.5 cm.) diameter (2)

The design of these tables en chiffonière derives from three models dating from circa 1765-70 formerly in the collection of the 4th Marquis of Hertford and now in the Wallace Collection, London (see P. Hughes, The Wallace Collection, Catalogue of Furniture, London, 1996, vol. II, pp. 1070-1085, nos. 211 (F311), 212 (F313) and 213 (F312)). Each altered in the 19th century, the three Wallace tables are attributed to Leleu (F311), Oeben or Riesener (F313) and an imitator of Leleu (F312).
