AN INDIAN SILVER-MOUNTED PEN-ENGRAVED IVORY-INLAID EBONY CASKET

This exquisite small casket is very similar to two caskets in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Both are attributed to Vizagapatam and dated circa 1720-1730. One with its fine silver mounts is very close in conception to the present lot. (cf. A.
