Enamelled and gilt with three figures standing in a fenced flowering garden, within a blue and gilt diaper border at the rim, the reverse and interior enamelled green, minor rim restorations, some gilt rubbing

Specialist note

Reputedly this teabowl and saucer was formerly in the collection of John Reeves (1774-1856), who joined the East India Company and went to China in 1812 as an assistant and subsequently became Chief Inspector of Tea in Canton.
