Specialist note
Kate Harris studied at the National Art Training School in South Kensington. She joined the staff of William Hutton & Sons, well known silver maker's from Sheffield, as a designer working from the small London factory that they opened in 1898. They also designed and supplied silver for Liberty & Co and the Goldsmiths' and Silversmiths Company. One of her designs was a prize winner for Hutton & Sons at the 1900 Paris Exhibition.
