With branch handle and basketweave-molded crabstock spout, one side enameled in black and iron-red with a portrait of George III, 'G III' and 'R' flanking his head, the reverse with a church within a foliate scrolled cartouche

Specialist note

The present pot was made to commemorate the marriage of George III to Queen Charlotte in 1761. A similar example painted with a portrait of the Queen is in the collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
