Anthony La Paglia
Born in Adelaide, South Australia on January 31, 1959, Anthony la Paglia is a prolific actor who has gained fame and recognition for his work on the stage as well as both the large and smaller screens.
The actor recently starred as Tito Merelli in the Stanley Tucci-directed revival of Ken Ludwig's Lend Me a Tenor, at the Music Box Theater on Broadway. Other theater credits include: The Guys, Bouncers, Northeast Local, On the Open Road, The Rose Tattoo and A View From the Bridge in 1998, which earned him a Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic Circle Awards for his portrayal of Eddie Carbone.
His film credits include: Lantana, Betsy's Wedding, Empire Records, So I Married an Axe Murderer, The House of Mirth, Sweet and Lowdown, The Client, 29th Street, One Good Cop, Company Man, Summer of Sam, Autumn in New York, The Salton Sea, Happy Feet, Lansky, Phoenix, Commandments, Brilliant Lies, Winter Solstice, The Bank, The Architect and, most recently, Overnight, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and Balibo, for which he proudly earned his second Best Actor AFI Award.
La Paglia may be best known to many for his work in television including his seven-year run on the hit show "Without a Trace" for which he garnered a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series. Other television credits includeL "Frasier" in the role of Simon Moon, for which he received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy, and "Murder One".
