Specialist note

After the original, painted in 1790 during the artist's stay in Rome, in the Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence. The composition depicts the artist painting a portrait of Queen Marie Antoinette and was intended for the Grand Duke Ferdinand III of Tuscany.
