Specialist note

Nicolaus Michael Spengler Hofglasmaler was born 28 December 1700. Under landgrave Ludwig VIII (1691-1768) Spengler excecuted two glass paintings for Jagdschloss Kranichstein, the huntinglodge of the landgraves and the later grand dukes Von Hessen-Darmstadt (now Museum Jagdschloss Kranichstein). Spengler died on 4 April 1776 in Darmstadt.
