Each of baluster shape chased with swirling flutes, rocaille and flowers and with floral finials, comprising a hot-water kettle on stand with lamp; a teapot; a milk-jug; a sugar-bowl; a tea-strainer with ivory handle; and a shaped oval tray engraved with crowned monogram EA for Archduchess Elisabeth Amalie of Austria, marked on bases and bodies, in a fitted moroccan red leather lined case, applied with silver cartouche engraved with crowned monogram EA

Specialist note

Archduchess Elisabeth Amalie of Austria (1878-1960), the daughter of Maria Theresia Braganza (1855-1944) and Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria (1833-1896), was the wife of Alois, Prince von und zu Liechtenstein (1869-1955). This tea-service was a wedding gift to the couple who married on 20 April 1903.
