Princess Charlotte of Wales (1796-1817) was the only child of George, Prince of Wales (later Prince Regent and George IV) by his wife Caroline of Brunswick. In 1816 she married Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha who was later chosen as the first King of Belgium in 1831. Princess Charlotte died in childbirth in 1817. She was buried in the Royal Tomb House at St George's Chapel, Windsor, with her infant at her feet.
