Specialist note

After studying first with Rubens and then with David Teniers, Vincent Malo entered the Guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp in 1623. Primarily a history and landscape painter, he travelled to Italy circa 1634, where he settled in Genoa and executed paintings for a number of the city's churches.
