signed with monogram (on the top of the base); inscribed with foundry mark 'Alexis.Rudier.Fondeur.Paris.' (on the right side of the base); numbered '3/6' (on the back of the base)
bronze with black and green patina

Olivier and Bertrand Lorquin have confirmed the authenticity of this sculpture.

This sculpture is one of two studies for the war memorial at Port-Vendres which was executed in monumental scale in 1923.
