Cal. 501 copper-finished lever movement, 20 jewels, two-tone gold "pie pan" dial, applied gold triangular-shaped numerals on engine-turned polished chapter ring, gold dauphine hands, sweep centre seconds, inner minute divisions, associated circular water-resistant-type case, hooded lugs, snap on back centred by the raised representation of the Geneva Observatory, 18K gold Omega articulated link or snake bracelet with extendable clasp, case, dial and movement signed

Specialist note

According to the Archives of Montres Omega, the movement and case of this watch were not born together and consequently no Certificate can be obtained.

Launched in 1952, the iconic "Constellation" model and its variations in regard to case and dial layout has become a highly coveted collector's watch. It is extensively described and illustrated in Omega - A Journey Through Time by Marco Richon, Chapter 8, pp. 359-400. A similar "Constellation Grande Luxe" model is illustrated and described in Omega Watches by John Goldberger, p. 186.
