Specialist note

The mark of a small house or cottage as found on the present sugar-bowl and teacup is also known on Saint-Cloud wares of circa 1730. Its attribution to Jean-Jacques Antheaume in a 19th century publication would not appear to be based on documentary evidence. See D. Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services of the 18th century, privately printed, 2005, vol. I, pp. 99.
