The flaring rim inscribed ERLICK.ENDE.FROM.IS.MIN.RICKDOM.1621+, cast with two identical friezes decorated with leaf and tendril motifs, stylized dolphin handles
16.6 cm. high x 16.5 cm. diam.

Specialist note

Wegewaert Jr. is recorded working in Deventer until 1621 when he moved to Enkhuizen, most probably this mortar has been cast in his foundry in Enkhuizen.
