Pieter Andreas Rijsbrack (Paris 1685/90-1748 London)

We are grateful to Mr. Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, for confirming the attribution to Pieter Rijsbrack after inspection of the original painting. He dates the present lot to circa 1740 and compares the composition to a painting with Christie's, London, 9 April 2003, lot 80 and to another work in The Manchester City Art Gallery, inv. 1908/36, dated 1740.
