L'éducation du légendaire héros grec Achille, fils de la nymphe marine Thétis, fut confiée au sage et érudit Centaure Chiron par son père Pélée, roi des Myrmidons. Chiron nourrissait Achille d'entrailles de lions, d'ours et de sangliers pour lui donner la force de ces animaux.

The legendary Greek hero Achilles, son of the sea-nymph Thetis, in his youth was entrusted to the wise and learned Centaur Chiron by his father Peleus, King of the Myrmidons. Chiron fed Achilles the entrails of lions, bears and swine to give him the strength of those animals.
