Please note the correct title for this work is The Wheatsheaf Pit, Pendlebury. Acme Mill can be seen in the distance. Riley painted the present work in 1966 and was accompanied by L.S. Lowry who also made a drawing of the same view.
Please note this work has been signed and post-dated by the artist 'H Riley/1966' (lower right) and again on the backboard.
