How to sell

A PAIR OF FRENCH ORMOLU TWO-BRANCH WALL-LIGHTS
SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY
Each modelled as a winged mermaid holding aloft a floral basket and issuing acanthus branches with stiff-leaf nozzles and beaded drip-pans, drilled for electricity
17½ in. (44.5 cm.) high; 10¼ in. (26 cm.) wide (2)

Specialist note

The distinctive winged-mermaid terms probably derive from a design by François-Joseph Bélanger or Jean-Demosthène Dugourc and can also be found on a console table by Georges Jacob in the Museé du Louvre.
