ATTRIBUTED TO SAMUEL YELLIN

Samuel Yellin is widely considered the preeminent American metalworker of the early 20th century. His wrought iron creations adorn banks, universities and numerous other public buildings throughout the country, notably the Federal Reserve Bank, Yale University, and the National Cathedral. His intricately wrought works evoke the Gothic, but stand as uniquely modern adaptations of this traditional craft.

This chandelier is a rare example of Yellin's work for a domestic setting. Made for the music room of the Gemberling home in Bala Cynwyd, PA, this chandelier, with its original chain and ceiling cap, is an excellent example of Yellin's more pared down, Arts and Crafts style.
