(Some creasing of corners in no. 123.) Original printed wrappers, uncut (one front wrapper a little soiled and torn), modern cloth box. Provenance: Kenyon Starling (label) -- William E. Self (his sale, Christie's New York, 2 April 2008, lot 182). FIRST PRINTING of this story which appeared anonymously in these numbers. Sold with the 1878 Brighton piracy of the same story in original pale pink wrappers. Eckel p. 200; Gimbel E29 & B299; Kitton Minor Writings pp. 92-93.
