Comprising a black coffee pot, cream jug and sugar bowl, together with an associated teapot, each with chased foliage and undulating borders, the tray with conforming decoration, engraved with a monogram on reverse, the tea and coffee pots with ivory insulators, marked under bases, the coffee service H/QR, the tray H/QS, the teapot H/XC

Specialist note

According to Larry Pristo, Martele: Gorham's Art Nouveau Silver, 2002, this set, chased by Edward F. Mason, was completed in January 1906 at a net cost of $337. The records list two teapots with the code H/XC, one made in 1906, the other in 1918.
