For an extensive discussion of this series of dishes Abraham L. den Blaauwen, Meissen Porcelain in the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam, 2000), p. 343, no. 244 where he illustrates a similar dish with this subject taken from La Crosse, pl. 41 of Stella's Les Jeux et Plaisirs de l'Enfance published in Paris in 1667.
