The rectangular moulded top above a pair of panelled doors enclosing four trays flanked on each side by five part mahogany-lined drawers with original rosewood knob handles on a plinth base, stamped 'GILLOWS. LANCASTER', inscribed in pencil 'JOHN MILLER LANCASTER SEPT 11TH 1822', four trays lacking, the trays numbered in pencil

Specialist note

John Miller was apprenticed to Leonard Redmayne, cabinet-maker, to serve from 1815 and was still in Gillows' employment in 1839.
